Emotional Intelligences

The webinar that I attended was about Emotional intelligences presented by Yvette Vignado. This webinar used to spot the light on an important issue that we might face in our life while we are dealing with children as parents or teachers. Vignado used to examine some solutions for those children with less ability to control their emotions and how parents should deal with them.
Emotional intelligence is measured in terms of Emotional Intelligence Quotient or EQ and  is important for a child not only to understand himself, but also helps him to understand the feelings and emotions of others. A child with a high emotional quotient will become more responsible and respectful. He will have an increased ability to show empathy, and find it easier to develop self restraint. On the other hand, a child with a low emotional intelligence will often feel helpless.
If a child receives very little emotional support at home he will be vulnerable to peer pressures and anxiety. A child may deal with his anxiety and fear by hiding it under a facade of being tough. This could lead to his turning into a bully, or becoming an under-achiever suffering from low motivation. For that rezone I think that, as teachers, we have a big responsibility to help such children, in order to build self confidence and to succeed in life.

  1. It is an interested subject, the emotional intelligence.it is a hard work how to deal with children because children think different than the young also their feeling are different so you should deal carefully with children.
